Ladakh

From May to July 2019 I was in Ladakh to do fieldwork for my studies. This beautiful region is located in the Indian Trans-Himalayas and is characterised as a high-altitude desert. Whereas the western and central parts of the region are very rugged and valleys are generally located on elevations between 3000 and 3500 meters, the eastern part is known for its high-altitude plateaus, located on altitudes of around 4500 meters. During three months I was able to take lots of images of many different wildlife species and landscapes, of which I gathered some of the best ones in this gallery.
